Valley Children’s Named a 2025 Leapfrog Top Children’s Hospital for Sixth Time

Valley Children’s has once again earned national recognition as a 2025 Leapfrog Top Children’s Hospital, marking the sixth time the hospital has received this prestigious honor. This achievement places Valley Children’s among an elite group of healthcare institutions committed to the highest standards of safety and quality.

Founded in 2000, Leapfrog has spent 25 years driving improvements in patient safety and is recognized as one of the most competitive awards in U.S. healthcare. The honor was granted to just 15 children’s hospitals nationwide, out of more than 2,400 hospitals reviewed, placing Valley Children’s in an elite category.

The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog organization, evaluates hospitals on their ability to protect patients from preventable harm, including accidents, injuries and infections. The Top Hospital award is based on rigorous standards outlined in the Leapfrog Hospital Survey, which measures performance in areas such as infection rates, maternity care and medication safety.

To qualify, hospitals must rank among the best in their category and demonstrate excellence in preventing medical errors and harm to patients.
